Joeggu Hossmann depicts the present through a socially critical lens. His content is radically contemporary, the motifs, often taken up during his numerous travels, are collected, compressed impressions of everyday life, reflected and frozen with a captivating intensity. The main focus of his work is on reflecting and criticising the absurdities and contradictions of our daily lives and social coexistence in light of the effects of global networks, the 24/7 availability of information and new digital technological innovations on people and their identity. He also transfers images found on the Internet into traditional paintings, thus presenting a collective visual memory of the virtual world.
