Laura Nieto

Laura Nieto playfully captures snapshots of shimmering city life or lightly flowing flower arrangements. The dynamic interplay of light and shadow in her atmospheric works opens up visual worlds that invite us to continue painting them in our minds.

Vita

Laura sketches her observations of street and café scenes, conversations and glances with a light brushstroke. These fleeting yet intense moments are captured in her typically transparent, glazed application of oil and aerosol paint.

Nieto studied fine art at the University of Salamanca from 1996 to 2001. Through subsequent study visits to Mexico and Berlin, she found her main subject: city and street scenes that, as snapshots, seem like memories of social encounters. The artist regularly shows her work in European galleries and at international art fairs.
