Vita

Marc Sparfel is a hunter-gatherer of the twenty-first century. He breathes new life into pieces of wood and old furniture that he collects on the streets of Barcelona. The city is Sparfel's urban forest, where he collects the wooden objects sprouting from the asphalt and then transforms them into archaic creatures and animal masks in his workshop. This process is always intuitive.

Over the years, Marc Sparfel has also turned more and more to the experimental abstraction of his animal creatures. His starting point is the combination of two wooden panels, from which the rest of the work emerges in a play of open and closed space, interweaving and disentangling, weight and counterweight.
