Feodora Hohenlohe

Feodora Hohenlohe has preserved her marvelling view on the world. She captures her curious eye in paintings where the apparent trivialities of everyday life become the main protagonists.

Vita

The often fairytale-like depiction of her subjects goes hand in hand with the threat to this harmony, that nothing remains as it is, nothing is certain. Thus painting becomes for her a form of preservation. Despite the ephemerality of the moment, Feodora Hohenlohe's cautiously observant works radiate tender optimism.

Feodora Hohenlohe, born in 1952 in Osterberg, grew up in an artist's household in post-war Germany in the 1950s and trained as a painter with Peter Schermuly in Munich. She began to paint her subjects as she herself saw them: as the exaggerated reality of her observations. Feodora Hohenlohe has lived in Berlin since 1997 and regularly has numerous solo and group exhibitions, for example at Schloss Ippenburg or the Bröhan Museum Berlin.
