Vita

Sieber uses photographs of people on the streets of Berlin as a basis for his work, but also archival photographs from police files or images from glossy magazines, which he ironises and alienates. Other themes of his work are advertising imagery, the desire for the superhuman in pop culture and its relation to real life, as well as violence at the intersection of fiction and reality.

Sieber, born in Karlsruhe in 1963, has lived in Berlin since 1973. At first he established himself as a comic artist, then from 1988 onwards he has worked exclusively as an artist.
