The Russian painter Pavel Feinstein studied at the Pushkin School in Dushanbe and the Berlin University of the Arts. Influenced by Cézanne's painting and Russian realism, Pavel Feinstein, who works in the former Berlin studio of George Grosz, is a master of classical painting technique in the field of figuration. His depictions build on a black, almost diffuse background. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions. Including solo exhibitions in the Jewish Museum Berlin and in the Osthaus Museum Hagen. The ZEIT called him "a new past master who creates dizzying imagery that deals with guilt and atonement, curse and redemption".
