Anders Gjennestad

Anders Gjennestad's figures seem to defy gravity easily, casting their drop shadows on city maps or on objects the artist found in abandoned places.

Vita

Anders Gjennestad is best known for his works that deal with human kinetic energy and the laws of gravity. Time, space, movement and energy become tangible through dynamic compositions that engage the viewer in an interactive exchange.

Gjennestad works with hand-cut stencils and multiple layers of aerosol on found objects, giving them a new identity and meaning. His works play with what we see and what we don't see. Faces and individual personality traits remain hidden from the viewer's eye. Anders Gjennestad is exhibited internationally and carries out projects worldwide.
